Analysis of Industrial Sectors

From the results of the analysis carried out by Intesa Sanpaolo with Prometeia we learn that, in the first few months of 2018, manufacturing turnover is growing, although at a slower rate than in the last months of 2017, with a tendential increase was 4.2% among January and May, at current values, with modest price support (+ 1.3%). The slowdown is mainly due to the domestic market. The foreign component of turnover is more dynamic, reflecting Italy's good competitiveness on international markets, where market shares increased. Almost all sectors are characterized by a more moderate growth rate compared to 2017, with the exception of pharmaceuticals and mechanics. Even the metals and electrical engineering industry have achieved above-average results, supported by the process of upgrading of the Italian industrial system. On the other hand, in the automotive sector there was a more marked slowdown in expectations. The short-term prospects are good: despite the uncertainty of the scenario, both internally and internationally, the confidence of consumers and businesses is returning to high levels, after a withdrawal in the early months of 2018. The growth fundamentals remain solid, both on the domestic front, consumption and investments, and on that of exports. Source https://www.prometeia.it
